Founder Bill Brodey, along with his business partner Ernest Thornett, obtained a licence from Britain’s wartime government to begin the manufacture of torque wrenches driven by the need for the gasket-less cylinder head of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine to be accurately tightened. This individuality in its history gives the company an edge in precision tool making, something this country was renowned for back when Norbar was born and something which Norbar, to this day, are still renowned. Still able to utilise the welcoming arms they were built on, even able to offer factory tours at their Oxfordshire location of Banbury, it is this pride within their own business which enables them to offer such diligent service to their customers.

Norbar’s business technique is usually reserved for small, independent businesses, just as they were in their origin state, as though having grown far larger, they have taken with them the essence of their beginning vision.
