What are marshalling bats and wands and when are they used?

As a pilot’s vision from the cockpit is limited, it can be hard for them to see obstacles on the ground. This makes landing incredibly difficult and potentially dangerous. That is why marshalling wands and bats are used by ground crew members to communicate with pilots and guide them safely around the runway. The wands and bats are brightly coloured and can be seen from long distances away.

At Dawnthrive, we supply ranges of marshalling wands, suitable for daytime and nighttime. For daytime, we stock the Triangular Marshalling Wands  Red Marshalling Bat MB-2040-O and Orange Marshalling Bat MB-435-235-O.

For nighttime signalling, we have the MW-360-RG Red/Green Marshalling Wand, Red MW-360-R Marshalling WandOrange MW-370-R Marshalling Wand and MW-293R Marshalling Wand.
